Please enjoy an excerpt from the poem "One Today" by Richard Blanco. We thought this poem and its message matched beautifully with the hope and unity of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." The song is an anthem for all who dream of a vibrant future where everyone is free to show the many colors of who they are. The song is an anthem for all who dream of a vibrant future where everyone is free to show the many colors of who they are. Blanco was the first openly gay and Latino poet to read at a Presidential Inauguration. He read his poem "One Today" at President Barack Obama's second inauguration in 2013. At the time, gay marriage was still not legal in all 50 states and wouldn't be until 2015 when the Supreme Court ruled that bans on same-sex marriage violated both the Due Process Clause and the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. There have been many milestones and setbacks since that time for LGBTQIA+ people. It seems right to acknowledge that alongside the beauty and truth we celebrate this month. May messages of pride and hope, whether they be through music, poetry or art, fill you with love. Watch our Song Release "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (The Wizard of Oz)
